Samsung Syncmaster 2493hm supposed video issue

As the title indicates I have a 2493hm,

before I post pictures i just wanted to bounce this issue off some of you guys. I'll mention that I've been unable to find anyone with the same issue as this one.

What happens is that the monitor will work just fine for about 15 minutes then the image will flash and then it will start to cycle through the inputs (digital, analog, hdmi) it will stop briefly(2 minutes) on the HDMI show the proper image, complain about the resolution then continue the cycle.

I thought it was something screwy with the power supply so I went to digikey and replaced all the caps excepting the big one with Panasonic's with slightly higher voltages.

where do I go from here oh gurus of capacitors!

Digi-Key carries 9 different series of capacitors. 6 of them are unsuitable for the out filter in an SMPS. Which ones did you use?

Going with a higher voltage is unnecessary, and can cause problems fitting the new caps.

You take pictures and attach tem using 'Manage Attachments' - below the text entry area.

Actually you didn't do too bad, although other choices would have been better. The FMs would be the preferred caps; the FCs will work well. The two EBs are a poor choice, but should work at least for a few hours. The NHG actually has respectable specs at first glance. When I don't want to spend a lot of time selecting EXACTLY the perfect cap to make PCBONEZ happy I choose Panasonic FR, FM, or FC in that order.

When I read the symptoms I thought it would be more likely that the problem would be on the signal board, or possibly even a bad switch on the control panel. Pictures are in order. Sharp, well lit, and attached using 'Manage Attachments' - below the test entry area.

Samsung SyncMaster 740n Phase Control Issue
          by vincentedel
          Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some time—like after playing a game—the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...

Samsung Series 9 - BIOS issue
          by Kjell
After installing Linux, I can no longer enter the BIOS of my Samsung Series 9 (NP900X3C) laptop. When pressing [F2] during boot I simply get a black screen. Same thing when pressing [F10] and choosing "Setup" from the "App Menu" tab. Apparently this is a relatively common issue with Samsung laptops of that generation, but unfortunately i haven't been able to resolve the issue (yet).

Things i've tried so far; reinstalled Windows 10, checked for redundant boot entries, tried to factory reset using the emergency keyhole, attempted to clear the NVRAM by physically...

Samsung DM32D – Red LED blinks 5 times, won’t start (possible mainboard issue)
          by Nairolf
          Hello,

          I have a Samsung DM32D display.
When I try to power it on, the red LED blinks 5 times and nothing happens—the unit won’t start.

Here’s what I have tried so far:
          1. Disconnected the cable between the mainboard and the power supply → the backlight turns on.
          2. Disconnected the main T-CON ribbon cable → same issue as before, the LED still blinks 5 times.
          3. Disconnected one of the two T-CON ribbons to the panel (tested each one separately) → same issue, the LED blinks 5 times.

From these tests, I suspect the problem might be on the mainboard. Could anyone...

          Samsung Syncmaster 740BF repair
          by soopacrucial
          Hi folks,

I'm new here and was wondering whether you might be kind enough to give me some advice on troubleshooting the following problem:

Quite a few years ago now, a couple of years from new, my Samsung Syncmaster 740BF LCD monitor starting playing up by making a buzzing noise and then the display would go blank. I seem to remember the blue power led would also go off when this happened but that I'm not 100% sure of. By pressing the power button I do remember I could at first get it working again but eventually the problem would come back. At the time I had read about...
