    Acer AL1917 smoking

    Monitor: Acer AL1917 sm
    Inverter/power supply board DAC-19M001A Rev 1F

This monitor was working and started to smoke so it was unplugged immediately. When I dismantled it I found a burnt component which I think was a capacitor, marked in the picture. So I was wondering if anyone might know what rating it was, and also whether replacing this will rectify it or if there are other components that may also be damaged.

That is the usual failure mode of those caps. Replacing it AFTER cleaning up all the scorched marks should fix the board. There are 5 more capacitors in that area. Are there any letters / numbers on them?

The 3 inline with it are 30J 3KV and I think the one between the transformers has got a 30 and a 6 on it difficult to see it with the glue on it and the last on I can't see any numbers on.
The burnt one seems smaller in size than the 30J 3KV ones
