    Philips mini stereo model MCM530/22

    I'm having a problem with this unit's power amp, it's a class D amp more or less descrete. One of the channels gives an audio output signal, though far too low in amplitude. the other channels doesn't give anything except nasty spikes and noise when unit's volume is turned up.
    Can't locate a service manual for the unit, maybe anyone has got a tip.

    I've found a service manual for the unit, and will dig into the unit.
    I'll report the failure!

      How simple it is as long as you get a service manual!
      The problem was a shorted electrolyte (470uF/16V) in the "virtual ground" (vcc/2) circuit. This gave 0V as virtual ground reference, making the op-amps not work correctly.
