    Sony STR-DE875 optional/compatable speaker relays

Just a quick question about the speaker relays.

I have this receiver that doesn't have any speaker output.
I have cut open the relays (taken the blue covers off) because I could hear them clicking on and off so I thought the relays were on their way out.

When I manually turn the relays on there is sound from the speakers.

My problem is finding replacement relays (3 of them) for a good price. I have seen them as low as $8 each, and as high as $12 + shipping.

The original number on the relays are as follows....
    OEG brand
    OSA-SS-212DM3
OSA - 2-5A, Two-pole PC Board Relay through hole
    SS - Vent (flux-tight) * plastic cover
    2 - 2 pole
    12 - 12VDC
    D - Standard
    M - 2 Form A, DPST-NO (double pole single through)
    3 - 3A @240VDC resistive (DM3)
    •Coil - Resistance (Ω) = 270
    •Coil - Rated Power, DC (mW) = 540

This relay, OSA-SS-212DM5, is a close match, 5A instead of 3A.

    Will this work for me?
I'm pretty sure it will be fine, I'm just looking for an expert advice as I do not want to blow up anything, or cause a fire.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you ever find any or find another solution? I just took mine apart after realizing yesterday that I could get audio output by touching the top of the "front" relay case. I wasn't sure if I should swap two, replace the "front" relay or solder the contacts closed. Because this receiver was problematic, I retired it to a closet that only drives ceiling speakers at low volume and I only need one set of outputs. Thank you.

Have you first try to resolder all the speakerrelay-contacts on the underside? It's a known problem with Sony amplifiers of that era; bad solder-joints on the speakerrelays and elsewhere. (Has something to do with that horrible 'new' lead-free RoHS solder around that era.)

Yeah, check for cracked solder first. I fixed a STR-DE545 I got for free that had a bunch of crappy joints mostly on output ICs and surrounding parts, although not on the relays. Also a corroded resistor in the protection circuit which was probably the main problem.
