Infinity sub amp and Onkyo 2 ch reciever

Hey all, looking for some advice

First i have an Infinity sub amp from a ps10 that turns on, makes buzzing noise louder and louder till it shuts itself off. Noticed someone on ebay fixes them so it must be quite common.

Anyone have any idea on what goes out on these?

2nd i got a 2 ch onkyo tx8050 reciever that has never had any speakers hooked up, it was used as a controller for an old bose 5.1 amp they sold way back in the day, so only thing used was the 2ch preouts fed from the optical from tv. It turns on with half dim display and then protects or shuts down after about 5 seconds.

Looking for any insight. Im not new to fixing or soldering. I soldered some new parts on a $2500 motherboard out of my Roland versa cam and also a bunch of not so touchy parts as well.

Ok sweet, i just found the ps12 amp thread which is the same amp as i have. I dont have the obvious cap burning areas though, but part of the board is brown.

Looking for Dump for P87C51SBPN (Concord Infinity Elevator)
      by vlady carp
      Hello, colleagues!

I'm currently dealing with an issue while repairing a Concord Infinity elevator. The microcontroller P87C51SBPN used in the control board has failed, and I need the original firmware dump in .bin format to replace it with a new processor.

      What I've done so far:
      • Diagnosed the issue and confirmed the microcontroller is the root cause of the problem.
      • The original processor is beyond repair, and I wasn't able to extract the dump.
      • Reached out to the manufacturer (Savaria/Concord), but I haven't received a response yet.

Onkyo HT-R390 no sound output, video output ok
      by FrancescoV
      Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
      M:1.00/11107BLP
      D:?.??/????????
      O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

Bad DC offset on Onkyo TX NR414 - doesn't appear to be in the analogue section
      by jjne
I have a TX NR414, well I have two actually which are both exhibiting the same issue.

The one I've had since 2012 developed DC offset of around a volt under load on the front right speaker output. Not enough to trip the protection but enough to be noticeable in terms of sound quality. I checked the preamp board and couldnt see anything obvious. The offset is too high really to be a drift issue right?

I put the amplifier away for a while. I managed to pick up another example with a dead HDMI board very cheaply (common on these - mine was replaced by Onkyo several years...

Onkyo TX-NR828 - popping sound every 5 min
      by roman-hartwig
      Object: Onkyo TX-NR828
Problem: Popping noises in the right surround channel every ~5min
      Service manual: available

After I was able to bring my beloved Onkyo back to life (total failure of the power amplifiers) and it has now been doing its job for some time without any problems, it is now ailing with a new problem. It still works fully, but after about 5min it "pops" in the right surround speaker for about 0.5 sec very loud (100% volume). I am almost scared to death - sounded like a battery exploding or something. It sounds like something is discharging - a...
