HP Z420 processor power IC burnet AOZ1231

    Hi,

I have a burnet IC (AOZ1231) that is responsible for providing power to the processor circuit. I didn't find it so far as well as the manufacturer stopped producing it anymore. But I found a possible alternative (AOZ1232). I want to know if I can replace it instead of the original. I will provide the datasheet for both ICs. I hope you help me decide or if you have another solution. Thanks in advance.

    - Alternative IC (AOZ1232) Datasheet: https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...f3fb9d8a40.pdf

I did find this if it helps. I went to A&O site: http://www.aosmd.com/products/power-...s/AOZ1231QI-01

    Recommended Replacement is: AOZ2151EQI-30

Yes, they are the same, the only difference is AOZ1231 at 4A, and AOZ1232 at 6A.

Actually, I have compared it before but there is a difference in the pin numbers.

        Thanks for your response R_J.

I'm afraid of the 2Amps difference that may affect the short circuit protection. Does the short circuit protection get affected by the max output amperage ? I think of it as a short circuit breaker in a house. I know that if there is a short circuit it will turn off but with a delay time by a microseconds more than the original IC (AOZ1231). This delay even if a microseconds may be dangerous on another IC. Is that right?

          Thanks for your response lotas.

I see that, I guess it is not a pin for pin replacement
