    BK Precision 2910 R/C Pak...

    All,
Picked up one of these the other day from a Swap sale.

How would one test this unit? Would using a multimeter and going thru every possible value be the method?

These have electrolytic capacitors in them according to my research...so not sure if they are problematic.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Take it apart and look for burned resistors, especially the lower values. You can confirm their resistance with a multimeter.
The 3 electrolytic capacitors probably need reforming/replacing due to age. I would check their capacitance and leakage. Nowadays you rarely add in a 450V cap to see if that fixes things. But back in the day when you suspected a cap of being open or low value, you'd use this box to parallel up a known good part to see if that fixed things, like hum in a guitar amp or a TV, radio in tube gear.
I think cleaning the rotary switches is the hardest part, sometimes they have a lot of oxide.
