    BF256 JFet Pin Outs

I have been making a small video amplifier ,when I look on the website some data sheets say pin 1 is the gate ,and others say its pin 3 .The source is still in the middle on pin 2.
Do you think this correct ,or a mistake on the data sheet ?

I'm far from an expert on these chips, but two of the biggest reputable names, Motorola and Fairchild document gate as pin 1.

If you have a breadboard, could you test to verify?

      Re: BF256 JFet Pin Outs

Yes you are right ,I think it was the data sheet from On semiconductor that had different pin outs.
Interestingly reversing the source and drain connections did not seem to make any difference to the results ?
I am using BF244 jfets on my circuit at the moment as I have quite a few of these ,when I am happy with the circuit I will go back to the BF 256.
Never thought a video amp would be difficult to make ! I keep losing the colour which is the HF component .
Think I am going to use an LM318 IC after the BF 244 jFet ,this circuit is doing what I what ,inverting the video and allowing me to connect it to my video source without dragging in down ,just need to reduce the impedance to 75 ohms. I might try another emitter follower circuit or a source follower .

The LM318 is a good op amp and has been around for a really long time. IIRC, its gain-bandwidth product is 100MHz. If that's adquate it could be a good choice. It's not exactly a low supply current part, though.

Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

Thanks ,no real problem with the amount of current used by the LM318. Just drawn up more designs on multisim . I need to try them out in the next few days .One thing I do know is building the circuit on a breadboard has far too much stray and can cause the colour to disappear .The luminance is low frequency 7.8KHz and sub frequencies ,but the colour is 4.443MHz

Denon AVR-X3600H No sound even to pre outs in direct analog mode. Help please!
            by FuzzyOwl
Hi, I have a Denon AVR-X3600H I'm trying to repair. I have no electronics repair experience but I have a multimeter, service manual and a will to fix it (https://device.report/m/d5de8c00e617...f63147aba9.pdf)

Everything seems to work except for no sound even through the pre outs. However I will get sound using Zone 2 pre outs.

Only digital symptom I can tell is it will soft lock when in the Speakers/Test Tone menu and be unable to adjust +/- db during the test tone.

I've followed the trouble shooting guide, audio check...

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2 Needed help with identifying charging IC
            by sofles
            Hi there,

Recently I bought broken Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2, the problem with them is that battery discharges on its own even with headphones turned off. It is a quite common issue with this model and even with model higher PX8.

With help of thermal camera I found out that there is one IC that is hot even with headphones turned off. To check if I'm correct I bought another PX7 S2 working one and replaced small charging board with this IC and problem solved, battery no more drains on its own. After changing board back to original problem returned so I'm 100% sure problem...

            Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2e Internal Photo's
            by sigh45
This is a long shot but does anyone have a photo of the USB Charge board wiring? I have a pair here that somebody has used a blowlamp to get the port off, Luckily the tracks are all good but some of the NC and filter cables were desoldered. A new port is fitted but there isn't a sniff of any marking on either side of the headphones as to the cables use. Here's hoping

            Cheers

            Battery Charging Peugot Boxer
            by barry wilkins
I am having a problem with the starter battery in my motor caravan, the makers info is very poor so I am struggling a bit with this.
As it is Euro 6 I think the charging is done by the ECU,not the spilt charge system with relays.
I managed to start the engine after a boost and the voltage rose to about 14 volts ,but now it is about 11.5 volts.
It is not charging by the EHU where the 12volt power supply is.
            It is quite complex .
            Starter battery
            Liesure battery
            Solar panel
BCA module with relays fuses and the power supply
            The fuse in...

            DVM circuits
            by barry wilkins
Unforunately I damaged one of my DVM,s when working on some power supplies
measuring some high voltages ,because there was some rf on the dc I was measuring.
It still works but is noisey and it will not measure diodes, I would like to fix it if possible.
Does any one have any circuits for DVM,s

            thanks
