I am in need of a decent / affordable camera that does extreme close up with zoom and focus that has a USB output so I can use a LCD monitor for reworking SM boards. All I need is the camera.. Recommendations? Links?

There are two types of zoom; digital and optical.
Optical zoom is better than digital zoom - beware that some manufacturers specify a large zoom rate without "digital only" or a "digital and optical combined".My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.
