Default Identifying bad capacitors ?

How can I identify a bad capacitor if they're looking good ?
Only unsoldered and test with ESR meter ??

Yes, that is the only safe method. Caps can have OK capacity but develop high ESR nonetheless, so w/out ESR meter it's hard to tell for sure.

That being sad, i have to say that I have yet to see good looking but failed cap.
I am just a hobbyst and don't have much xp, but all the good looking caps I ever tested were fine.
stay classy
