    Identifying Semiconductor manufactures

    Its a pain isn't it!

I've just spend the last few hours trying to find some details about some Mosfets I need to replace. The only numbers on them are

    D463 BX6D22

    and

    4408 BD5K35

With a logo that looks like a uppercase A in a circle (slanted backwards slightly)

Lots of websites like http://www.chipdocs.com/logos/logotypes.html and http://freespace.virgin.net/matt.wai...ogos/index.htm, but, typically none of them have the logo I'm looking for.

Anyone with any ideas? The D463 mosfets are from a Foxconn 6150K8MD mobo and the 4408's are in a Elonex CL50/51 (I think) Laptop.

I'm fairly sure that the BX.. and BD.. are datecodes, but other than that I'm lost.

    packages?

    there's a Si4408DY 20V N-channel FET in a So8 package.

Yea, that looks like the logo. I'm pretty sure its a D436 - I've attached a few pictures, but its a sod to get the lighting right. The others in the board are D438 and they are fine. The mess on the board is just flux.

Thats the one. It does help when you haven't got a dyslexic keyboard...

I'll have a dig around later and see what I have, they don't seem to be anything special so I think it'll be worth a risk with some equivalents, at least for a test. I'll no doubt need recapping as its the potentially bad KZJ caps, but as yet I don't even know if it works at all.

Ah well, I tried some replacement mosfets in the Foxconn 6150K8MD but the VRM just creeps up to about 0.8V when powered on, so it looks like the control chip (ISL6566) has been fried when the original mosfets shorted.

Another one to strip for bits
