    PC Graphics card

I have here a Nvidia GTX Titan Black that will not post. The fan spins briefly before stopping with no output.

As I am not used to working on graphics cards I am after a little help if possible :

What do I start checking first?

    Re: PC Graphics card

Did you try the video card in another computer first? If you don't have another computer, did you try it in another PCI-E slot? I'd start there. Rule out the motherboard first and once you've confirmed that it is in fact the video card, maybe look around for bad capacitors? If it works in another PC, I'd make sure your BIOS is fully updated. I've seen where some video cards prevent POST but a simple BIOS update fixes it. I believe the Asus Rampage V has some issues with certain video cards where a BIOS update fixes the problem. Just a thought.

I have reballed the RAM and GPU as a precaution but still no joy. It is as if the card has a short as it powers down with no POST... Resistance across power terminals come back nominal and by what I know of testing these MOSFETs they are fine too.

Funny that you say about the Asus V, I am using a crosshair V but bios is fully updated and card has been tested in 3 different machines

Checked BGA soldering via 800x magnification, All looks good.

Ok lets start at basics to make sure I am doing this right.

How to check if a card is shorted? What points do I use?

check for shorts across the fets and smoothing caps.
if your lucky it will be a shorted ceramic cap.

                          that's some of them.
the exact readings arent important as long as none are shorted.
