    ASRock P4VT8 KZG and TMZ

It had 4 bad KZG 3300uF 6.3V recapped with 3300uF 6.3V Nichicon HM

This is a Pentium 4 board but it lacks the usual 4 pin P4 connector!

I think that the CPU power is derived from 5V. There are 4 KZE 1500uF 6.3V, instead of the usual 16V caps.

All the other caps are TMZ 1000uF 6.3V (14!).

    The board is now working.

It's quite possible. You can check by measuring the at the MOSFETs on the CPU VRM.

My ECS P4VXASD2+ is like that - it uses 5V for CPU. Has 3x 3300uF 6.3V Ost RLX on the CPU VRM high and 4x (maybe 5?) 3300uF 6.3V Ost RLX on CPU VRM low. Good thing I'm using it with a low-wattage P4 Northwood. A power-hungry P4 Prescott can easily eat 20A on the 5V rail (if not more).

I wouldn't say quite possible, I'd say definitely. No 4 pin cpu connector, no extra 12v...only one 12v wire with 6a max guaranteed to be there if user plugs a 20pin atx connector, according to atx standard specs...

I would have tried to replace the capacitors with ones rated for 10v instead of 6.3 - yes, 6.3 is enough but capacitors of same diameter rated for 10v should be available and quite possibly rated for longer life.
