    Dell laptop power supplys

I got two dell laptop psu for free a few days ago i meassured them and they seem 'ok' but there is some issue with the identification circuit in them
it have an normal 'dc-plug' in the end except it has an outer metal connection 'plate' and an inner 'ring inside it' minus at the outer and the inner has the 19.5V on it then you have an metal pin that i assume shall have a few volts so the bios in the laptop can identify the psu model the connector looks like this (cutted in half):

The ic im suscpect to be bad is labeled: Dallas 2501031C4257AB

Hagis2K, Thank you for showing this.
I have a collection of these, PA10 family and PA12s.
The one in my hand has been opened just like yours, it was also not recognized.
There are different versions of this and mine does not have the chip you mention.
This older power pack has three conductors back to the wall outlet, the newer ones I have are two prongs at the wall.

The big cap with rev number is 03 on this one.
Caps aren't labeled Rubycon in it, look like panasonic KMG?
This one is also PA-1900-02d but the board is different at the center pin conection to the device labeled QID.
