• Philips Streamium (MCi900)

Hey folks...

I have accepted a work for a client, he came over with this Philips Streamium
a compact stereo with a Class D amplifier that was dead.

Fixed the powersupply in the unit a dried out capacitor on the primary
caused it not to start switching fixed that, now the powersupply works
all the voltages on secondary is correct 2.2 - 3.2 - 5 - 9 - 12 - 30V etc.

But the unit fails to boot all i get is a white screen for 10sec then i will see the clock symbol --:-- for 5sec then it goes in sleep sort of the background illumination...

• Re: Asus m5a99x evo (AM3+)

So anyway i sorted my motherboard out with a crude reflow i used some no clean flux around the bga on the motherboard placed it in the oven started at 80c up to around 220-240c then slowly ramped it down... so after this treatment it sprung back alive question are how long it lasts 1-6 months i guess gives me time to upgrade lol

• Asus m5a99x evo (AM3+)

Hello friends well i think my long trustworthy motherboard gave up on me...

Will not initiate the cpu any more, and i tried 3 different psu and 2 cpu
so this is strange to me.

I tried it all changing cmos battery, resetting bios even pushed on mem ok button but that on just flashes now?!

Checked capacitors and all seems healthy but i shall try to see the output from
all vrms to the cpu if they deliver the voltage, it is computer controlled on this board so maybe that little processor gave up that controls the voltage.

Pc...

• Re: Electrolux Washingmachine ewf167320 will not heat water

Yes i forgot to say the element recieves power as it should.

Shall remove it asap and see how it looks.

I even took the pcb out of the machine did not really find any bad solderjoints but i re-did a few anyway do anyone know if the machine can sense if the element draws to much current?

• Electrolux Washingmachine ewf167320 will not heat water

Hi folks i been trying to help my mom a bit since her washing machine
gave in a bit.

What i have done so far:

1. Checked resistance on the heating element, roughly 27 ohms so that equals to the 1950W or what it was. O/C to ground too.

2. Also checked the ntc was close to 6.8kOhm

3. Tested some programs all are halted as soon as it starts to heat the water and it displays "Err" in the display, realized that it works on centrifuge program only then it works (as it is not heating the water).

4. (Today) i disconnected...

• Re: Samsung UE40F6270 won't come out of standby

Well i think you have to disassemble the tv further...

As i do with the sets from samsung is place 2 shoeboxes on a table let them be a bit smaller then the screen, then place towels over them to protect the panel.

Now try to carefully release all clips and let the bezel fall down on the table below, after that take some masking tape and secure all corners on the panel to the plastic frame.

Now remove the speakers, cover for the panels circuitboard, release the connector with the flatflex...

• Re: Samsung UN40F5500AF No back light

Well been some time since i was online here, and i have another suggestion that
i been modifying multiple sets to make them run cooler.

I been repairing some of these too about the same model but the sets i worked on
is called ue40fxxxx

R9119 R9219 if the value of these is 0.27 change it to
0.55-0.6 it makes them run cooler and they are likely never to fail again.

Then the voltage drops from around 180V over diode d9202c over the string with 52 leds down to 164 and you can then...

Hej!

I saw your post from 2 years ago regarding recalibration of speed sensor for volta/electrolux vacuum clean.

https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpost.php?p=564162&postcount=8

I have now spent 2 days trying to recalibrate the same board but I am having partial success.

I am able to set values corresponding to minimum motor power and turn off, but to get motor to full power I always must turn it all the way clockwise toward the mechanical end of the potentimeter.

I read your explanation for calibration many...

• Re: Another Sanyo ebay scam

Yeah that sounds like how it is, seen so many sellers with almost the same names, better to buy them else where you know what you get.

• Re: HP 6820s Bios Dump

Isnt it downloadable from hp's site if you perform a dump from a dv6820 then it will contain the serialnumber and so from the other laptop. isnt it a function for emergency restore of bios on these machines i think so some keys you press while you boot and you have the .rom file on a usb flashdrive good luck! shame is that i had a dv6820 that i sold like a month ago so i can not help you with that.

• Re: Another Sanyo ebay scam

The Rubycons look real but it is like russian roulette to buy capacitors over ebay lol, i bought 50pcs of 1000uF/16V nichicon from audjade_chn and they seems ok

Is there anyone who has a "list" of sellers on ebay they trust a bit?...

• Another Sanyo ebay scam

Needed capacitors to repair a computer powersupply and i did order a few here and there, so i did order a batch of 20 of Sanyo WG 2200ยต/16V he never showed the top of the capacitors and i read his feedback and i thought it should be ok? no...

I knew right away when i saw the "+" type of vent that it was fake but lol look at the photos, they didn't even care to remove the old heatshrink so i reported the seller too.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zW2HFj7rAXc

So here is a video i made for the seller, to prove to him that i marked...

• Re: Vacuum Cleaner Speed Controller issues...

So a final update everything now works and if someone ever would run it to the same problems with similar devices:

The circuitboard has this partnumber: 2193995111
the regulator ic: MC9S08QD4C
Triac: BTB16-600

And to avoid problems before you do like me, here is a small tip:

Take a pen and draw a line where off and max speed corresponds to the potentiometer angle and please do not bring it outside those boundaries when you test make sure it is in "off" state...

Thank you RJ!!! i was looking at that capacitor C2 before and its was that MKT capacitor that was bad now it responds up to full speed but it still needs a calibration and now it makes sense

• Re: Vacuum Cleaner Speed Controller issues...

Yes i was looking at that one for a while (C2) it says 474/250V 470nF i guess but my component tester says 154nF ESR=8 or so i assume its bad the other (C1) 334 330nF measures 261.nF ESR=3.2 so thats true.

And no im not that good with polish even if it is close to me haha

Saw that polish site too seems like MQD4C is a microcontroller?

Try to source some capacitors then

• Re: Vacuum Cleaner Speed Controller issues...

So tried to resolder some joints, and it still acts up like it is power cycling i wonder if the controller ic is faulty?

Tried to upload some real high resolution macro photos of the pcb but the size was way to big so here they are:

• Vacuum Cleaner Speed Controller issues...

Hi folks i own a Volta U6820 (same as electrolux 6820) it as some weird ass speed regulator i talked to the local electrolux service department and they told me i needed to "re-calibrate" the speed controller?!

Problem started with that on level 4-5(max) it starts to go up and down a lot in speed so now i played with it as the technician told me two outcomes so far 0-30% ish and 20-100% and lol i can not turn it of in the last but i also noticed in the last setup the triac/thyristor turns on and off all the time at higher speeds makes me believe that there might be an...

• Chinese Power Supplies some good some bad (problem solved! :) )

Anyway i thought i share the problems i had with a cheap chinese power supply i did buy:

I was in need for a power supply for my small Sony netbook style mini laptop,
so i bought one that i thought should be "decent" but buying from china is like a lottery lol!

So anyway i got the power supply like a week ago and when i plugged it in the little laptop started behaving very strangely locking up touchpad not responding so i was like wtf now i unplugged the new psu.

And the laptop started working like normal so then i just decided to look how...

I think that is an wise idea, seems like the error can differ a bit today i could have the set up and running without issues, until i could see some ghosting text moving on the screen shall be interesting to measure the capacitors with the newly ordered atlas esr70 meter
it works flawless when it is cold so some heat related i say...

Will look for a used working main control board then, if i do not find something wrong with the voltage regulators...
