ga-6vxd7 nos with bad hermei caps

got this as an old stock dust catcher cheap at a local mom and pop store.
as i opened the bag for the first time an odor appeared.
    you guessed it.
    leaking caps.
oily crap around the base of each of the hermei 330@25v
    all the others are sanyo.
its all recapped now and works fine.
goes to show you dont have to use crap caps for them to fail.

You have any pics of those?? Iwill was notorious for using Hermei caps... I've never seen them vent, but I have ran into flaky boards with these caps. Upon further analysis of the caps with my Sencore LC102, they were far out of any useable tolerance.

they are probably long gone.had several pickle buckets and cat litter containers full but they started to stink and the containers were more usefull for sorting tubes so they got dumped.
iirc they were black/copper and had a honeycomb sort of vent.
the capanalyser 88 showed them to be open.

Yup, the Hermei's are the ones with the goofy honeycomb vent, I do remember that...
