Increasingly hard to boot means increasingly unsuccessful attempts to boot properly. If I press the power button I expect to see LENOVO followed by boot to GRUB but that happened less and less.

Couldn't say what KIND of kernel panics the GUI (if boots) would return to command line with varying lengths of lines and "kernel panic" was usually at the bottom.

Didn't try another ram stick but I did remove one, both and rotated positions - no apparent change.

As for the caps lock key I will have to try that.

What kind of errors? What kind of kernel panics? What is "increasingly hard to boot", is it not POSTing (like caps lock key doesn't even trigger caps lock LED on the keyboard)? What are the specs of the machine? Did you try another RAM stick anyway?

This was a dual boot system was giving odd errors at boot to Ubuntu but was booting fine to Win10. After some time even Win10 was crashing giving kernel panic errors.

Thought I had a dying hdd. Not so.

Became increasingly hard to boot to even the Lenovo splash screen. Last time it did I managed to run Memtest finding no memory errors.

I googled this and seems to be not uncommon yet no one has found a solution.

How to go about troubleshooting this ?
