I'd second this. I have a very similar system, and it's been rock solid (minus self-inflicted BIOS issues because I'm a dumbass who can't keep his hands off AMI tools).

That said, I run Autodesk 2017's suite on my work laptop, which has a Skylake (whoops, thought it was a haswell) I7 6820HQ and 16GB of RAM. Nvidia Quadro M3000M 4GB Graphics. Runs great for most things in AutoCad and Inventor, but struggled on a Step file of an entire robot welding cell (2.5GB file, originally made in SolidWorks by the equipment integrator building the project).

What are you doing in SW exactly (or not if it's confidential)? Some things don't need much (parts and small assemblies, not much analysis). Others do need some horsepower to get the job done (complex analysis, large complicated assemblies, etc.).

      AV/HTPC Build/Purchase.
      by ratdude747
Per some issues I've run into with a new AV setup at Chuch, I'm thinking in the long term I need to look into buying/building an AV (HTPC) machine to work around the misbehaving laptop.

The rest of the AV system is currently built around HDMI: there is a switch and splitter to a projector (which feeds stereo RCA to the existing audio mixer) and monitor (which has headphones; the monitor is for previewing with the projector off/blanked). OS wise I'm thinking either Windows 10 or (less optimally) OSX, mainly since I'd like to eliminate the fiddly blu-ray player (which is causing...

MacBook Pro M1 Pro Logic Board 820-02100 Mosfet where to purchase?
      by prodigy83
      My reference only: TT10141.

Problem: I need to purchase a mosfet chip from board 820-02100 M1 Pro, that is supposed to be Q5820 but according to Digikey, the schematic diagram I sent them, neither are relevant to the actual mosfet specification I sent them. I just basically need to find this mosfet to purchase, I cannot find it anywhere and am hoping someone could point me in the right direction without have to purchase this entire allusive board. Already checked with Digikey, Mouser, Aliexpress, eBay. Any suggestions?

      Mosfet specs are as follows:
