Hi all,
Thought I'd have a go at repairing this motherboard for my own experience so nothing to lose.
It had a s/cct on the power jack which was traced to Q545 being burnt out and also D503 being s/cct. That was the easy bit.
I think D503 is a Mosfet although the case markings don't mean a lot. See the attached picture. The 'C 11' marking, the c is back to front on the device?? Q545 I think must be some type of regulator semi. Both devices have been removed.
Being as Q545 was toasted there were no markings as to what device it was. Whether it's the same as the device it was next to I don't know but the numbers on that are not easily readable either. As these were covered by the same heatsink it's possible both were damaged although not s/cct.
Does anyone know what these devices are and if they are obtainable anywhere in the UK (Ebay?).
I have a couple of older laptops I was going to break open to see if they have suitable parts in but I suspect they are just that bit too old.
Any assistance with this would be gratefully received.
Cheers
Bob
