    Asrock P4i65G IRda

    Hi all,

I have a question about this MOBO and WinXP: today I went to visit my friend and she was happy for the MOBO, it works well.
Then she asked me how to use the IrDa device !!
I didn't see it when I read the MOBO spec and I didn't see it in the HW device configuration when I was checking for any missing driver... but the device is there.
I checked the User Manual and there's nothing about it.

How is it possible? Just a weird behavior of WinXP?

I attach here the snapshot of the device manager and you can see it there, in Italian language its name is "Periferica infrarossi incorporata" that can be translated as "Onboard Infrared Device".

Has anyone experienced the same thing?
The PC is working well so it is not a problem but I'm curios to know why it shows a non-existing device.

    Ciao
    Gianni

    Re: Asrock P4i65G IRda

    its a bios thing.

you can set up the bios to use the second serial port as an infrared device.
anyways... its only a (usually) 4pin header somewhere on the mainboard. the IR transmitter/receiver is optional.. which makes it completely senseless to activate it... only thing it does is wasting an IRQ..

i dont have a PC with an AMI BIOS at hand right now, but it should be somewhere in the "onboard peripherals" section..

note.. F2 lets you get into the BIOS... not Del as usual..

      f*ckin edit time limit -.-

      ---

edit: um.. i think i was wrong with the ami bios thing...
at least this screenshot shows what i mean..

      Advanced -> Peripheral configuration

"onboard serial port B mode" should be "normal" and not something IR related (Fast-IR or something..)

          Re: Asrock P4i65G IRda

Scenic you were right: in the BIOS there is the Infrared port, I have disabled it and the IRDA Device has disappeared from HW device configuration.
I took the BIOS pic but I forgot to take HW device conf.

          Thank you very much

Corsair cx600 psu & ASRock B450Pro4 mobo wont start
            by Ibod
HI I have a PC using a Corsair cx600 psu & ASRock B450 Pro4 mother board that won't power on after a shutdown (replaced a dead drive in a raid array) Not the boot drive.

With most things unplugged, including the 24 pin ATX connector, but not the ATX12v to cpu, I have +5.01V on the +5vsb pin 9 from the PSU. When I plug the 24 pin back in to the mobo, the +5vsb fluctuates between 1.1v & 1.9v.

Not sure where to go from here ?

Is the PSU at fault or is the mobo causing the problem

Look forward to any help :-)

            AsRock P4i65G polycap/polymod advice?
            by Erroneous Hyphen
            Hello!

I have a Pentium 4 motherboard, a AsRock P4i65G that I'm wondering whether it would be worthwhile doing a polycap upgrade on? The existing capacitors look fine to me, none are bulging or leaking that I've noticed. I was approaching it more from an 'upgrade' perspective, as to whether there would be any benefit to do such a mod even if the existing capacitors look fine?

I believe that if I do go down this route, for the Voltage Regulation circuits that I should be sticking to the same capacitance and voltage, and that a higher ripple voltage and lower ESR can...

ASRock N100M, no picture no boot, but semi-alive
            by Exim
            Hi guys,
I managed to semi-kill an ASRock N100M board after updating Bios from 1.10 to 2.01. It's a zombie now, dead, but not dead.

            ASRock N100M special features:
            - CPU soldered to board, small Intel 12th gen
            - iGPU
            - four POST LEDs

Problem after updating Bios to 2.01 using the in-Bios update tool: no picture, no boot.
I am not sure anymore if it booted at least once successfully after updating the bios to 2.01, maybe not, I can't remember. I think it did not.

            Symptoms:
            - no picture/signal on any of the display connectors,...

BIOS .bin file for ASRock B450M Steel Legend
            by nolaryie
Hi, I’m looking for a clean, working BIOS .bin dump (16MB) for the ASRock B450M Steel Legend motherboard.

I’ve already tried flashing the official ASRock ROM file via CH341A, but it won’t post — I believe the capsule format is incompatible.

Any BIOS version that supports Ryzen 5 2600 is fine (e.g., P2.30–P3.60).

If anyone has a working board and can dump the BIOS using CH341A or flashrom, I would really appreciate your help.

            Thank you!

Full BIOS Dump for ASRock H310M-HDV Rev 1.02 (MX25L12873F)
            by khanhtq0
            Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a full BIOS dump (.bin) for the ASRock H310M-HDV Rev 1.02 motherboard. The BIOS chip is a MX25L12873F (128Mb / 16MB).

I’ve already tried flashing the official BIOS from ASRock (version 1.40 and 3.30), but those are Instant Flash versions and don’t include the full SPI image (e.g. Intel ME Region, Descriptor, etc.). After flashing, the board powers on only when I short PS-ON to ground, and it fails to generate Vcore and 2.5V. Other rails like 1.05V and RAM voltage are present.

I suspect the original Intel ME and descriptor...
