Dell Optiplex 745 desktop, serial number and service tag

Hi guys,
i am looking more info about that Foxconn motherboard LS-36.
Is serial number and service tag stored in SPI-FLASH?
If i replace motherboard and exchange SPI on new board i will have same serial and service tag?

Interesting question - never tried it. I am curious why it matters though? Service tag is still on at least two places on the case (white sticker with black text on the back, or black sticker with white text on the top of the case)

Yeah, replaced motherboard and got license problem.

I have exchanged bios ic, flash lan but nothing, serial and service tag still not changed.
Where they had stored that info?

Well, maybe can help someone in future.

Write on a cd that ISO

Once you boot from these you can set the service tag with:

asset /s <service tag> (write service tag number without <>)

You can also set the asset tag with:

asset <asset tag>

Or clear the asset tag with:

asset /d
