FPU Sine and Cosine operation support

This post concerns a component of a computer system being a floating point unit.

Notably from what I can find, the 8087 and 80287 FPUs do not support Sine and Cosine operations; only the 80287XL and the 80387 onwards support such operations - I am curious why.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

My guess would be that the FPUs are slow anyway and need to do LUT,the main proc probably could do the LUT in about the same time.
Advantage of FTAN and FATAN is that you do both lookups and the divide at the same time...
