Blues are right down with Toshiba and Hitachi IMO. I'll pick a Seagate over one any day. Blacks seem alright, but they are way too noisy. I've never seen an RE4 before.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

I got two RE4 500GB drives, good quiet drives too.

I just bought a WD SE 4TB drives last week and installed it. No problems yet.

Well I figure I'll update this. More of my 3TB seagate drives are dying. I lost one in December and I ran on 5 drives, then another one last week. so that put me down to 4 and tonight I lost another one, but luckily I got two new 4TB SE drives in and re-silvered before this one crapped out.

SO These newer seagate drives are just total rubbish!

Hopefully I don't lose another one, I need the money to fix the car and roof.

I thought I'd throw out some of my personal experiences in the last 12 months with Intel iMacs, 2.5" SATA SSD drives and Fusion drive data recoveries.

As a backgrounder, Apple never fitted a 2.5" SSD's to these iMacs. Apple's SSD option was a system of 32GB NVMe blade drive (NGFF connector) and Seagate 1TB 2.5" HDD, married together in software to become a Fusion drive. Non Fusion systems have just the 1TB Seagate HDD.

So, the most common reason an iMac comes across my bench is because it's either ridiculously slow, or it fails to boot at all. The most...
