    Thunderbird upgrade bug 1.5.0.8 to 1.5.0.9

    seems that on some upgrades the upgrade fails with the following message

    Software Update Failed

    One or more files could not be updated. Please make sure that all other applications are closed and that you have permission to modify files, and then restart Thunderbird to try again.
    and then goes into a loop......trying to upgrade....failed...trying to upgrade...failed

    the problem appears to be the dll mozMapi32.dll which is located in /program files/mozilla thunderbird

    the solution is to uninstall thunderbird 1.5.0.8
    delete the contents of /program files/mozilla thunderbird
    go into safe mode and delete the mozmapi32.dll
    reboot and install 1.5.0.9

    the settings are not stored there so they are restored immediately
