    USB ports raised

    Hello All,

I have a Gigabyte 8i945PL-G motherboard which is like 3 months old.
Well one of the USB ports toungue (the black plastic piece inside the port) part is very very slightly raised up, about 1/10 of a mm to be pricise. When i plug in a USB device, all works well but the "click noise" i usually hear is not very loud like the other ports.... im just concerened if my USB port will one day just break off or something like that. Ive tried to bend it back down.... but it just doesnt go down to be even with the other ports.... im not going to risk breaking it. I didnt even notice the issue until i unplugged my mouse the other day and plugged it back in.... when i felt that the connection was a little odd. All i can guess that either the USB plug of the mouse is a crappy dud or either it was like that in the factory.
This is the port closest to the PCB and with the LAN port on top... it apparently is made by S-tech.

Should i be greatly concerned about this?

    Re: USB ports raised

    Forgot to add....

I dont usually use this USB port.... maybe a few times for the mouse and that was it.... im very very sure i have never bent it at all.
From now on i wont use it anymore just to be sure.

.... but i just want to know if i should be greatly concerned about this issue.... i dont really want to deal with Gigabyte technology over this issue.... im guessing right now that they wont even repair it....

OK now, problem solved.... got a full motherboard replacement and paid $25 extra for a GA-8i945P-G board.... yay!
