Hi folks,
I'm repairing this old AC adapter and noticed it had a leaked cap, removed it, cleaned the surface (very nasty smelling) and now I'm trying to look for a replacement, but the values aren't quite standard or at least I don't have them readily available.
Any suggestions or guidance? I like learning about this.
Is there any chance to use a capacitor with a different value?
Capacitor info:
68uF 35V
Size:
20 mm tall
11,4 mm wide
I included some pictures. It seems the traces involving this capacitor had it's plastic covering eroded (I finished it by cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol).
There's a trace that goes between what it seems to me two resistors that's also corroded.
And then there's these two capacitors which I didn't remove at all because they look OK, but maybe they are compromised too.
FWIW the AC adapter should have an output DC voltage of 18,5V and 2.2A.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
