    Ohh my God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the worst case of rigging I've seen in a LONG time!! Anyone who looks at that, DON'T do it that way!! I also saw where he installed a 10,000uF cap across the bottom of the CPU slot... I doubt the original was that value!! He bragged that the board POST'ed, but I didn't see any pics of it actually running an OS... Somehow I'd have doubts about the success of that 'repair'.....

    Thanks for posting that, a good example of what NOT to do!

    <EDIT>
    I saved a few of the prime selections of this 'fix' to my server for reference since I don't know how long they will be available online from their origin.

      that looks like hell but it would work...if you could get it in a case with the beer can cap on the bottom

        There's no way that would fit in a case without taking a grinder to the motherboard plate and grinding out a clearing for those huge caps...

        I'm all for improvising and necessary substitutions on occasion, but that one is a bit too much... :o

        Did you read the writeup he did on his page?! He mentioned drilling out holes... Not a wise thing to do on a multi layer PCB....
