Bad chemicons (?) in XC cube?

Having a little difficulty making up my mind about this one. Completely new with this badcaps business as well.

The patient is an about 1 year old Aopen XC cube EZ-18 -110.

Slight stability problems with hangs, reportedly using google picasa. Getting a fairly good impression using the machine, snappy performer in XP, no "thinking pauses", error messages in the event viewer and the crashes need not be related. Box maybe run a little hot, and the cpu cooler fan which these are stacked around was I'd say 50 when opening the box. Maybe up to 60 there but cooling is working and there is a fan pointing down there, I actually figger temps are mostly all right and more like 40-ish. It is overclocked from 333 to 390, but the box is specified at running ddr400 with the correct (socket A) proc. Not overvolting any part of the computer. Stable (tested) oc. I don't think there is a good way of measuring voltage or temps reliably from windows with this, but they seem reasonably stable in bios.

No smell or visible goo. No bulging, but quite heavy bending on all of this type in the hot zone and sligth bending on another besides the ram.

Small ones are rubycons, there are a few big green ones that seem ok, and then the bent ones are identical to the chemicon in the end of the badcaps photo thread, if they are fake they are darn similar.

    Writings horizontally:

    6.3 V
    2200 uf
    rectangle-ish symbol and kzg

And vertically (90 on the board)

    (m) 105[degree symbol] C
    3171
    NK
    Kzg

Logo is similar to the kzg, and top.

I have some other images although not very excellent ones in a gallery:

    here

Now the tricky part is that it is possible they were bent when I got them from the heat sink being loose, which it was on one of two of these I built. I don't remember them being that bent though. I mean I don't remember them being bent at all, then I wasn't looking for it.

What do you think, have they crapped themselfes? Or could they be fine? I understand they are not badcaps, but how un-badcaps are they?

Would I have noticed more significant symptoms if they were as bent from bad caps? And can I diagnose it without the electronic equipement?

I should say that I read this site fairly extensively, searched and read the rules as well, so I have the base concepts.

    Very grateful for all input!

capacitors which are angled may have pushed out the bung at the bottom of the cap. This is generally because of low quality bung material which becomes smaller in time, so any pressure will push the bung out of the bottom rather than rupturing the vents at the top of the caps. This is also usually accompanied by leaking of electrolyte on the board so you can see a trail of it leading from the cap down the board.

Generally it is pretty obvious if that is the reason for the caps being angled rather than due to handling the board or during manufacturing. you will see the bung clearly not flat at the bottom of the cap.

the KZG caps in the badcaps photo thread had bulging/leaking from the top and not issues with the bungs. generally they are accepted as reliable caps.

it would be good to look at other issues before considering badcaps on the mobo.

    - ram errors (memtest86+)
    - psu with badcaps (visual check inside psu)
    - hard disk problems (smart software)

the case is small but the cpu cooling system looks ok. i would be concerned more about hard disk temperature in that environment.

    might be software problem though....

Well I think I'm opting for software issue with this one. No visible leakage, not a known badcap and so I guess this was screaming wolf. Some Rubycons around the board as well, scared me though to see all those bent caps!

Appreciate the advice, this is a pretty amazing site.

      Have a nice day!
