RCA 50LB45RQ has no sound. Already replaced the main board.

This one was originally completely dead. Took off the back and noticed the HDMI IC had a hole blown through it. Must have been a surge through the cable box or something.

So I replace the main board and everything seems to work OK except I get zero sound from the TV. I also tried plugging speakers into the "head phone" jack and the only sound you hear is "click, click, click..." Reset all settings but it did not help.

I noticed that my eBay main board did not match the part number exactly so I decided to buy another one from ShopJimmy with the EXACT same numbers on all stickers. This board gives the same exact problem of no sound.

Speakers both test at 8ohms, so they should be OK.

    What else could it be?

Wild guess,Can it be a ripple from the 12volt line on power supply? Like a bad cap, resistor on the edge of it's value?

Another stab in the dark but I see that some sets now have a supply for the Audio. If the original board had a major blow up of the HDMI chip maybe its taken the supply down on the PSU.

It looks as though there is a separate voltage from the power supply to the audio amplifier on CON3

Very cool, thanks. Although my power board looks a little different than the one pictured I will look for the audio supply on mine.

I am an idiot. Audio amp power supply harness and speaker harness are identical. I had them plugged into the wrong sockets.

So you're up and running again. Well done.
