Toshiba Satellite S55-C5248

I Have a Tosh. Satellite S55 that was dropped. Black screen, no backlight on LCD. It does get video trough HDMI. I havent seen a screen just go black without a back light or an image in the background after being dropped unless a motherboard issue is present. But like I said HDMI is working. Reluctant to order a new screen. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Strip it back further and visually inspect as much of the motherboard as possible, check for cracks/missing bits and bobs.

Check this Schematic I think L40 is the same

Did you check the flat cable to the Led screen ? . It is a one only tiny connector and on drops it might get loose .
I've even see many cases where the connector loosen on opening the laptop wider than his rotation angle can take .

Tried screen on similar laptop that just just came in. It worked fine. Then put it back on laptop with issues and everything works. Dont have a clue what just happened.
