Trying to fix some more of this old junk or toss it out. Figured I'd see if anyone here had ever run into this issue:
It's sort of like a backwards version of a dying backlight. The display will occasionally flash or flicker a couple times, then go super bright and really washed out looking. When I checked it before, I skimmed over it for bad looking electrolytics and cold joints, but didn't spot anything. I'll try to do a more thorough job of that in addition to testing it for temperature issues, but I think it had even done it from a cold boot as well as staying on for a while without doing it. It appears to go much brighter than anything you could do with software settings.
Can that still be a backlight problem or is there any other specific part to check or replace?
Thanks!
George
