Hi there, I trying to find a short on my motherboard,I dont know which component causes a short, I use a multimeter but it always short on points PAD

semiconductors can short out . also capacitors can but not as often .
transformers can also short out but you might smell that first . -

Hi many way's to test for a short one way with multimeter diode mode red probe on ground and black on say +vbat whats the resistance? Just make sure no power is to board. Next way if you have and idear where short is meaning circuit wise like charging
you could apply a very low voltage and with your hand's touch around to see whats heating up or to be safe use a thermal imager to see hot spot ... just by lifting the big square coil and inject voltage there for that circuit to see if the buck controller or fets are heating up again if it's a 3V line only inject like 1V is everthing is cool you could gradually increase voltage until hot component shows it self. I hope this help
