Have an issue with CPU support on this
There are two mobos available
399971-001 410426-001 for earlier dual core only CPU systems
436356-001 436718-001 for later dual and quad core CPU systems
I have a 399971-001
This runs ok with 2 of Xeon 5050 (dual core) - 4 cores in total
Also runs ok with 1 of Xeon E5335 (quad core) - 4 cores in total
Will not run with 2 of E5335 - just hangs
All voltage LEDs read green
Have update to latest BIOS
Before I go any further with testing
1. What is the difference between the two mobos - pics would be nice
Can't find datasheets
2. Is this a BIOS issue - MCH is Intel 5000V?
Supermicro et al offer the same chipset which runs 2 of quad core
HP state on a community board, 436356-001 required to run 2 of quad core
Are they being funny - 1 of quad core runs on 399971-001
I may have a look at the BIOS to see if cores are being turned off etc
Will check the VRD spec and the rest (in time).
Any views and opinions appreciated
Thx
