ASUS G513Q short on 1.8 and 0.75v rail
Hi all,
I have this laptop that initially had a short on VBAT
I found that the short was coming from U60600, a DC/DC converter responsible for 1.8v. There was also a shorted cap on pin 13, the LDO for the chip.
Removing these has cleared the short on VBAT. But 1.8v and 0.75v rail read 0.1 OHMS.
I have read another article here that said that this typically indicates a failed cpu.
Is there any way to confirm? I was borrowing a thermal cam and now don't have one to see what heats up on that rail. I feel like I may be wasting my... -

Total newbie here. I am very interested in learning laptop repair and would have extreme appreciation for some guidance on an issue I am having here.
This machine was pretty badly liquid damaged. Initially, it was stuck at 5v on the charger. I fixed that by finding a shorted cap on the cd3215 1.1v ldo and reprogramming the TBT rom. From there, the machine went to 20v, but nothing happened. 40ma current draw. I reflowed the smc and the machine powered up.
