Just out of curiosity, I had a look on a few bios files with password and unlocked for the 8FC8. There are actually two bytes changed, what looks for me like random locations. Maybe I did not tried hard enough the see the pattern.

Is the secret somewhere hidden in this forum, how the bios is unlocked?...

Just a short summary what worked for for my dump. I purchased a SOP16 test clip and soldered the eight wires to it. Actually I purchased another one pre-wired that did not create a stable dump.

With an [B]CH341a Pro[/B] set to 3.3V I was able to create a dump with [B]flashrom[/B] on Linux and write the patched one. I had to remove all components from the board.

The wiring was simply taken from the chips datasheet:

Hi,

Hope you are doing well. I have an admin password locked Optiplex 3090 Micro and was able to extract the locked bios with a CH341a and a SOP16 clip.

Would be really nice if one could unlock my Bios file.
