I have the same problem. The laptop only had a broken screen; I'm not sure if it was on when it arrived. But after installing the new screen, I can't turn it on or charge it. With the original charger, I didn't have 20V DC, so I used a generic charger. This makes the area near the DC connector very hot, but I don't have any apparent short circuit. I removed the DC connector and injected 10V as shown in the image, and the area near it gets very hot. I also noticed that on the back, near the LCD connector, two capacitors appear to be shorted, or perhaps have low voltages. I don't have much knowledge...
