Jesse has it right.
It is the GPU, and it most likely will need a bios reprogramming when u re done.
Those things tend to get in protect mode when u rework something on them due to overheating.Leave a comment:

Hello there, you should reprogram the bios chip 1st, cause it is a common fault on these kinds of laptops. That being said there is a chance that the machine is in a protected state due to overheating and the north bridge might as well be fried.
And try to be sure of the Charger you are using, it has to be an hp 90W psu, the smart pin thing is a real pain in the ***.Leave a comment:

That motherboard is faulty as hell! Even if you do reball the gpu chances are you are going to need to replace the chipset itself as it will make no difference.
Trust me i had to throw a lot of them in the pile of scraps.
