Hey all long time lurker here,
I'm stuck repairing this TV, at first everything works fine, can browse the internet watch somr channels for about one hour (sometimes it's half an hour or more) and then boom it just dies like nothing works no standby light, remote doesn't works, removing then putting back the cord etc. After waiting for quite a while it just keeps working again.
Things I've noticed
- When it dies voltages on the output stage of the power board becomes 0v, no 12v no 3v3 (main caps still at the usual voltage) I checked the output caps one was a close short at 10ohms (470uF 25v) which is pretty weird for me. Replaced that but same story again.
- If I discharge the main cap by a resistor disconnect the board from main board and led strips and just wait for few minutes the tv works again as opposed to waiting for an hour.
Blowed the back of the TV, reseated all the connectors but still nothing.
PSU unit number is BN44-00771A L46HF_EDY.
Oh and as a newb I'm curious about one thing when I check the output caps in diode mode with reversed probes -red on ground black on plus- it beeps as if there's a short. Anyone knows why lol?
