I got this TV in yesterday and the complaint was that after powering on and working with good audio and video the TV would switch OFF. Pressing the power button on the remote control turned the TV back on and after 3-4mins the TV will turn off again.
Voltage checks showed that when the TV shuts down the PS-ON signal was lost to the PSU. I self-tested the PSU and the Backlights and all was OK. So I thought, easy fix, 'bad' Main Bd. I checked all that I could have on the Main Bd. and found nothing sticking out as defective or questionable. So I hooked back up everything but forgot to connect the WiFi Module E123995 and turned the TV ON and it worked well for 2hrs. I thought YES fixed. Lo and behold, when I reconnected the WIFI module and closed up the TV and power it ON the dang thing shutdown after 3mins. Re-opened the TV, checked that all connectors were seated properly but decided to remove the WiFi connector and powered ON and NO SHUTDOWN. Plugged back in the WiFi connector, powered ON and shutdown.
I concluded therefore that the WiFi module was the culprit as I have never come across or experienced this before in all my years.
Just to help anyone in the future, I thought I would share this. Thank you.
