Samsung Plasma PN51D550 X-Main Ve Voltage Question

I recently acquired a Samsung Plasma PN51D550 with the usual "clicks but doesn't power up" issue. Finding the X-main to be bad, I found a replacement on e-bay (making sure to get the 1080p version), and tested it prior to installing.

Everything worked after installation, but my Ve voltage, which the panel puts at 83 VDC was hovering at 89 VDC. Trying to lower it only brought me to 83.9 VDC before I couldn't adjust any further. Any clues as to hat might be causing this? All the SMPS voltages are in spec, and I'm not sure what else could bring the Ve voltage high. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

(on a side note, I'm also trying to update it as recommended in numerous threads. However, the Samsung update doesn't seem to work, no matter how I try to get it to work... any tips or locations for a better file or method again appreciated!)

After having tagging this problem to another thread mistakenly (the title won't help much), RJ suggested checking the Ve signal coming from the Y board, which I found to be 103VDC.

    I'm wondering

    a) is this voltage too high, and

    b) what on the y-board would cause it?

I've attached the pics of the tv for clarity.

Did you ever find anything out about this. My Ve is 110 and I'm getting ready to replace the X-main, but don't want to cook it.
