    Samsung UN40EH5300

I am presently servicing a Samsung UN40EH5300 which belongs to my brother and he said that it has been affected by a power surge. The fuse was blown and a coil was also damaged.I replaced the fuse and the coil and the television does not power on.When I unplug the power cable from the main board, the back lights switch on.All the supply voltages to the mail board are present.I am of the opinion that the main board has been damaged. Can anyone offer a solution or another opinion ?

The first test I do with Samsung LED TVs is unplug the M/B from the P/S and plug TV in, the back lights should come on if the LEDs are ok and the driver circuit is working for the LEDs. Then I check the other voltages out of P/S.

Your Main Bd. is definitely bad. Where or which part?....I'll think to suggest the BGA that sends the PWR-ON signal to start up the PSU. A repair of this nature due to power surge...I'll just look for a replacement Main Bd. and solve a big headache. Try e-bay see what they have, if any available.
