Hi,
I decided to ressurect my old 60cm satellite dish which is set at 19.2 degrees east, after having some large trees removed from my back garden this year.As a test I bought a portable digital philex sat rx and dish from Aldi last month that appears to receive signals from 19.2 east. Then bought as a gamble a Thomson DSI 8210CS as a permanant solution off Ebay.
On powerup it says no satellite signal present,I then checked all the electrolytics in the power supply for value and ESR and replaced c42,c43 and c21.Still same results. The remote supplied needed a strip down and a clean due to spillage, now all buttons on it seem to function.
Question do I need to realign the dish to 28.2 degrees east,do I need to source a sky lnb, in order to receive freesat on the Thomson. Please excuse my ignorance as its been a while since I received sattv which was when it was analogue on a amstrad srx100 years ago ! There is a signal meter in line which indicates that voltage is at the 2 f connector sockets.I have also performed a full reset and hard drive reformat, just in case.Any ideas ?
Cheers
Steve
