But it was replaced with a brand new one bud, and I checked its feedback resistors and they were fine. God knows what causes these to break down as they do but I dont have the time or effort to repair it a replacement is cheap enough on ebay so will just change it

I did follow the whole post, but on electrolytic Caps I have seen them fail because the design on some equipment allows for a ripple of reverse voltage to be applied on the negative side of the cap. I believe over time this ripple of positive voltage on the negative side of the cap causes them to fail.
