    No harm,

Flocko, must be making a killing on those SNs. LOL, I guess the thick sausages.

Some of those S30 boards can be a real simple fix, not sure about the SN,

we've all probably at some stage think we've checked it out to find we missed something. Wish there were more dead plasma pannys, much more at home with those.

well done, but that was what i was trying to suggest with my earlier response. anyway, perserverance wins and sure to be good fault finding history for the next victim.

Needs to be 5V, is the cap on that rail OK?

Check the caps you changed have you got them in the right way round? check to see if with all boards unplugged the voltages come up, first , check you have stand by 5v, then ground Ps On , relay should click in and all small voltages should come up, lastly if you still have the relay in jump VS On to STBY though resistor, this should bring VS voltage up, if you hear the relay click in and out when PS ON is grounded the problem will be with the two smaller Fets, if it happens with VS on it the larger Fets when testing the Fets for shorts remember that you will see about 12ohms across the outside legs and if you have to replace the Fets also replace the SMD diodes and resistors. Sounds like your power supply is being problematic then.

    ok control/main-board disconnected
PS ON grounded, VS ON to 5V thru resistor (100 - 1000 ohm will do)
and im now getting a fast paced clicking sound

Do you mean disconnect the cable with the PS ON/VS ON going to the control board then jumper PS ON/VS ON if yes then still the same

sounds like the FETs have failed for Va,Vs. It's usually the FETs that have the cracked solders. I have a 50" version and that's where it ended up blown FETs and just relay clicks

You need to isolate the main - jumper PS ON and VS ON on the connector directly
