Sony LED KDL50R550A Going off and coming on

Potential client, will be visiting today. Told me on fb that his TV is coming on and going off. Can't find any service manuals online for this.

Update :- Went by the client and here is what I found. The 3.3V to the main board is on steady as well as the 12V lines. What I found is that the backlight is going off and coming back on , off on off on continuously. The backlight error level is switching from 0.26V to 0.5V. At first I was thinking a faulty backlight board but I was able to go into the error list and the TV has no errors listed there i.e no backlight errors recorded. I told the client the fault lies between the backlight board and the mainboard. I don't know what the backlight error level should be for this model.

Also possible you have an intermittent LED in the panel causing this fault.

Is it possible to change LED on this model? I have a burnt out one on the upper left hand side of the screen, creating a visible dark spot horizontally across unit. This is after the repair company change the PSU and mainboard.

Also superg my tv had a similar issue. 6 blinks would come on for a short while and turn off. Repair company changes PSU and mainboard(Part swappers) then left. I plugged tv in a had a huge dark spot, im thinking overheated led and it failed.

It's possible but a pain in the arse - you'd need to disassemble the whole panel...

Well at this point i have not much too lose. The warranty company is giving me back the money for the panel, and it annoys me greatly! Is it easier/more econmical to change the led Assembly?

Im ok with a solder gun, i use to mod my consoles back in the day. I read elsewhere on here that it requires a heat gun and aluminum foil.

Do you know of a decent reference video of the process?

Not the tear down process i mean of the actual led replacement.

Superg were you ever able to figure it out? My TV now does the same thing! It works though I can use a flashlight to see the screen.
