Ok, just got this one. It would not power up from standby, it had bad caps on power supply. After heating capacitors with hair dryer, set powered up, but would not respond to remote control. I checked the IR sensor and saw it had very large amount of noise (>500mVp-p) on the 5V rail and the output was permanently pulled high (also with ripple) regardless of sensor stimulus.
I had a spare power board that had been re-capped before (same fault, BN44-00197A) and installed it. The remote sensor then worked fine. The ripple was gone.
Interesting that the PSU ripple due to bad capacitors caused issues with the IR sensor but everything else worked fine...
