Hello.
I'm not sure if a photo would be possible. Let me describe this.
Wife and I picked this 50" DLP from a local gent. Only paid $50 for it, and he stated it's been in storage for a while and just needed a bulb. (picture very dim. Viewable..but dim.)
Bulb came in and the picture is now extremely fantastic. And sense the bulb was only $30 for a factory Samsung one? $80 bucks for a 50" set? We're happy about it. Heck, I've not seen a tv screen that looked this realistic before. I've seen 1080p sets before. But this one? Wow, clear as like you're in person watching the scene.
HOWEVER---it does have one oddball set of issues. It has a very slight bright almost like a wedge on some pictures in the upper right corner going up to down at the extreme edge. About 1/4" like a sliver. Hardly noticeable, but it's there.
And on screens when it goes "Black"...It almost looks like two semi circles of "haze" of dark dark gray. Maybe about 10" from center of the screen. (Black as in...the image is black....issue isn't there when the set is turned 'off')
It doesn't match the classic signs of the light tunnel issues, nor the stuck mirror issues that DLP sets can develop.
Just wondering if anyone has seen this before. I'm tempted to crack it open and see if the projection lens itself may have a coating of dust or some such thing on it.
Thanks in advance. I'll see if photos can be posted of this. (the light wedge? maybe. The dark grayish shade? Really do not think it will show up.)
Just making sure we do not have any future issues with this set. Heck, I'm looking for a 2nd one for my study/den at this rate.
