    SAMSUNG BN96-03252A Vs = 1.6

    I gave up on trying to revive the last power supply and opted to purchase another on eBay. Unfortunately, the replacement also has issues.

    This one powers up the "Blue Eye", and one even gets the Power-On Chime when the button is pressed. The screen remains dark throughout.

    Test values are: measured/sticker
    Va = 65 / 65
    Vs = 1.6 / 197
    Vscan = -7.3 / -185
    Vset = 0 / 195
    Ve = 3.1 / 110

    Disconnecting Y-main and X-main has no effect on the Vs voltage.

    Please guide me in getting this one running.

      The TV is a Samsung HP-S4253 42" Plasma.
      Initial symptom was distorted horizontal band at bottom of screen.
      Recently progressed to no picture but sound. Examination showed damaged chip on Y-buffer, and 2 failed capacitors on Y-main. Power supply was "donated" to similar tv set while parts were sought.

      Since starting this thread, i've done some reading about the site and conducted some suggested test.

      By shorting PS-ON to Ground and VS-on to 5.3v, The power supply outputs a Vs of 198.4v (sticker = 197v)

      So it appears that the power supply IS in fact working properly.

      Is this then a control board issue?

      I welcome ideas to resolve this

        I removed the logic board and the main board for inspection and saw nothing untoward.

        Reinstalled them and voilla1 It works. Perhaps a cable needed reseating.

        There are 3 horizontal dotted lines at the bottom of the screen (?dead pixels) but otherwise perfect.
