Good day all,
I have a Toshiba TV, model 32C100U1 that turns on, displays fine for 5 min, sometimes 10 min and even 25 min then it starts to show double image, wrong colours together with lines as seen in the attached. I have measured and documented the tcon voltages both when the Television works fine and when the problems described occurs. It is important to note that the voltages are the same on the tcon board. The LVDS cable, tge panel ribbon all test good. I resoldred all the main ic's connections pins, connectors and even reflowed gamma chip. I tried to block some of the signals using the tape method. The closest I got was the double images was gone but the lines on the display were more "grainy " with the wrong color. I adjusted the thickness of the tape sometimes wider, sometimes thinner but the display still had a faulty output. I tested the panel pcb for short but no luck. The resistance on the majority of gamma tests points to ground was around 207 K Ohms some in the megaohms range but these were connected to one or more additional resistors ad seen in the photos. The only thing I noticed was the COF chips (ONE per COF) was very hot to the touch which I had concerns about. I have attached some photos and would be very grateful if someone can offer some words advice.
Please see below some of the voltages I measured:
* VCOMS1 : 6.51 V
* VCOMG1 : 6.51 V
* VCST1 : 6.51 V
* VCOMS2 : 6.50 V
* VGMA1 : 14.48 V
* VGMA2 : 14.14 V
* VGMA3 : 11.52 V
* VGMA4 : 11.05 V
* VGMA5 : 10.40 V
* VGMA6 : 9.99 V
* VGMA7 : 9.82 V
* VGMA8 : 9.15 V
* VGMA9 : 8.54 V
* VGMA10 : 6.06 V
* VGMA11 : 5.45 V
* VGMA12 : 4.78 V
* VGMA13 : 4.62 V
* VGMA14 : 4.20 V
* VGMA15 : 3.55 V
* VGMA16 : 3.09 V
* VGMA17 : 481.6 mV
* VGMA18 : 137 mV
* TP : 178.4 mV
* REV : 1.61 V
* ML0N, ML1N, ML2N, ML3N, ML4N,
ML5N - all read 1.15 V
* ML0P, ML1P, ML2P, ML3P, ML4P,
ML5P - all read 1.27 V
* CLKN : 1.21 V
* CLKP : 1.21 V
* VIN : 14.98 V
* VON : 27.14 V
* VDD : 3.2 V
I believe that the problem may be in the screen or perhaps in the COFs.
Cheers,
