Hi Tom, you were kind enough to reply to a thread I started a few days ago but I could'nt get the pictures to upload so I've started another thread in the hope you might have a quick look at the problem with your expert eye. As I explained before the set has horrible vertical lines on all inputs and user menus but is crystal clear on the service menus using the test patterns on Napoli and Genoa boards. I have replaced the mainboard and the Tcon with no effect. not sure what to replace next.

Could a bad LVDS cable cause this sort of problem

Hard to judge - it seems unlike any LVDS fault I have seen. Possibly some issue on the T-con due to how the panel works normally, instinctively I would have said bad panel though looking at it, due to how common it is on these.
